Septic Solutions: An Introduction

I recently bought a house with a septic tank for the very first time. I thought I was prepared, but I really had no idea what I was getting into. Shortly after we moved in, the septic tank backed up. I had to call for emergency septic services to have it pumped and taken care of. That's when I learned that I had overlooked some of the signs that the tank needed to be emptied. I created this site to share my experience and the tips that I learned along the way. My goal is to help others avoid the same septic problems that I have dealt with.

Septic Solutions: An Introduction

Three Times You'll Be Glad To Have A Porta Potty

by Camila Pena

Many people don't give porta potties much thought outside of using them at festivals or other outdoor events, but there are times when they can be extremely helpful for the common homeowner. If you've never rented a porta potty before and can't think of a reason you'd need to, you might rethink that position after you consider the following three events.

Bathroom Renovation

Homeowners often engage in bathroom renovations to give the room a new touch of polish or to repair damage from constant humidity, among other things. However, if you don't have more than one bathroom or have a large household that will have to struggle with sharing just one while the other is being remodeled, you might want a porta potty.

The only real alternatives you have here is to squeeze everyone into one single bathroom (providing that you have more than one in your home) or to run to a neighbor's house or local business when the facilities are needed. This is especially problematic when renovations run for longer than expected. Rather than going through that headache, consider getting a porta potty for the duration of the renovation.

Big Party

Another good time to invest in renting a porta potty is when you're planning on having a big gathering at your home, like a party. Everyone's been in the situation of waiting in a line for facilities before, and this problem is bound to be even worse if you only have one restroom available to your guests.

While the idea of putting up a standard porta potty might not be the image you're looking to project, you should know that porta potties come in many varieties now. Some porta potties are more like trailers than a single stall with a door, and even provide hook-ups so that you can have flowing water in the porta potty. With a nicer quality porta potty, your guests are likely to feel simultaneously relieved and appreciative of you taking the extra step for their sake.

Sewer Line Problems

Finally, porta potties are an excellent solution when you have an issue with your outdoor sewer line. When this pipe fails, it can mean going without using any of the facilities in your home, because there's nowhere else for drainage to escape than the sewer line. If this is your problem, a porta potty will let you and your family use the toilet comfortably without the hassle of going somewhere else to go.

If you have any questions or want to rent a porta potty, reach out to a local rental service.
