About Me

Septic Solutions: An Introduction

I recently bought a house with a septic tank for the very first time. I thought I was prepared, but I really had no idea what I was getting into. Shortly after we moved in, the septic tank backed up. I had to call for emergency septic services to have it pumped and taken care of. That's when I learned that I had overlooked some of the signs that the tank needed to be emptied. I created this site to share my experience and the tips that I learned along the way. My goal is to help others avoid the same septic problems that I have dealt with.

Water Well Repairs Your System Could Need

by Camila Pena

Water well repairs can be an issue and most homeowners that use these systems for water will be likely to encounter them. While water wells can be a reliable source of water, these are complex systems that will be prone to suffering a range of issues that will have to be addressed. Read on to learn about the issues you may face and the water well repair services that will help fix the issues.

Structural Issues With The Well Shaft

When individuals think of water wells, they are likely to focus on the shaft. This will be an opening that will allow a pipe to be installed from the pumping system to the water source. Stability issues with the well shaft can increase the risks of the interior walls of the well collapsing. This could lead to a new well needing to be drilled to correct for this problem. Periodic inspections of the well's interior walls will be necessary to determine whether repairs are needed. A water well repair service will be able to use small cameras to perform an inspection of the shaft walls so that any needed repairs can be identified and performed before the problems destabilize the water well system.

A Fault With The Pumping System Or Tank

Moving the water from the underground source to the home will need a pumping system that can move many gallons of water very rapidly. Rather than pumping this water directly into the house, it will first be stored in a reservoir where it can be released into the home's plumbing when it is needed. Problems with either of these components can lead to a major disruption in the availability of the home's water. A common type of repair that these systems may need can be replacing the belt that drives the pumping motor. If this component becomes warped or torn, the system's water output can be severely decreased or even reduced to zero.

Pipe Ruptures

There will be a number of pipes that are needed to connect the various parts of the well system. If any of these pipes develop leaks, it can lead to immediate performance problems for the home while also contributing to damage to the well system. This damage occurs as a result of the water eroding the soil away from the components of the water well. Finding and repairing any leaks in the well system should be a key priority for any home with a water well system. While detecting these leaks can be a challenge, experienced water well repair services may have moisture detection systems that can help to narrow the general area of where the leak is occurring before any excavation work is done to the property.
